Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment in line with Islamic teachings
- Educating children in the classroom using SVA teaching philosophy and methods
- Grading student homework assignments daily and complete student assessments in a timely manner
- Interfacing with parents as needed
- Using school software to manage grades and create report cards
- Recess Duty
Qualifications:
- 2 years relevant experience in education
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new situations
- Solid interpersonal skills, including ability to build rapport with others as a team player
- Exceptional and proven verbal communication skills
- Ability to use MS Office Programs, Google Suite, MS Outlook

Dean of Islamic Studies, Quran, & Arabic
SVA is actively seeking a part-time or full-time Dean of Islamic Studies, Quran, & Arabic. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Curriculum Development and Oversight:
- Review current and historical SVA PreK-8th Grade Islamic Studies, Quran, & Arabic curriculum to identify gaps and improvement required
- Design an updated and comprehensive curriculum for PreK-8th Grade Islamic Studies, Quran, & Arabic as needed in collaboration with existing staff
- Work with teachers to create lesson plans in line with updated curriculum
- Mentor current Islamic Studies, Quran, & Arabic teachers to support updated curriculum implementation
- Work with teachers to update and/or develop assessment standards
- Design accelerated high-school advanced Islamic curriculum (perhaps examining primary source document or other advanced work)
Teaching responsibilities:
- Create a developmentally appropriate, positive, nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Teach middle school Islamic Studies classes
- Teach accelerated high school Islamic Studies class (one 50-minute class per week)
- Grade assignments and exams for middle school and accelerated high school Islamic Studies students
- Complete report card grades for middle school and accelerated high school Islamic Studies students and provide availability for parent-teacher conferences at end of two quarters
- Interface with parents regarding their child's education as needed
- Lead middle school parent sessions focused on important Islamic topics related to their children’s age group at least twice a year
- Lead SVA-wide parent sessions at least twice a year
- Create and lead grade-specific/age-appropriate sessions on Islam to KG through 5th Grades in dual-grade classes at least twice per year (specifically, KG/1 class session, 2/3 class session, 4/5 class session)
- Lead school-wide sessions on various Islamic topics at least once each quarter (4 times a year)
- Complete online GLAD training
- Give Jummah khutbah at least once a month
- Lead morning assembly for school at 8:20 a.m. at least once a week
- Lead sessions for teachers at least twice a year
- Invite and host talks by outside Islamic scholars at least twice a year
- Provide support and counseling to individual students from time to time as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 years relevant experience in education, Islam, Quran, or other
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new situations
- Solid interpersonal skills, including ability to build rapport with others as a team player
- Exceptional and proven verbal communication skills
- Ability to use MS Office Programs, Google Suite, MS Outlook

Programs & Development Coordinator
SVA is actively seeking a full-time Programs & Development Coordinator. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage co-curricular, after-school, and enrichment programs and events
- Fundraising management
- Manage WASC accreditation
- Identify and establish community partnerships
- Organizational management
- Marketing oversight
- Support school in day-to-day operations as needed
- Support a developmentally appropriate, positive, nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment in line with Islamic teachings
Qualifications:
- 5 years relevant experience in education
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new situations
- Solid interpersonal skills, including ability to build rapport with others as a team player
- Exceptional and proven verbal communication skills
- Ability to use MS Office Programs, Google Suite, MS Outlook, Canva

Marketing & Social Media Coordinator
SVA is actively seeking a full-time Marketing & Social Media Coordinator.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and oversee the execution of the school marketing plan, including
- Social media
- new student marketing and outreach
- donor marketing material and outreach
- branding strategy
- school update announcements (emails, newsletters)
- Manage and update SVA website
- Create relationships with local businesses for sponsorship and donation opportunities
- Identify local community members, organizations, and businesses where meaningful partnerships with the school can be established
- Work with administration on events, fundraising initiatives, and community opportunities
Qualifications:
- 2 years marketing experience
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, FB, LinkedIn, Twitter)
- Experience in graphic design and design software, like Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator
- Campaign management
- Ability to use MS Office Programs, Googe Suite, MS Outlook
- Creative and collaborative
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new situations
- Solid interpersonal skills — ability to build rapport with others and a team player.
- Exceptional and proven written and verbal communication skills.
